Delve into the study of fashion illustration. This course is divided into 2 parts. First an exploration of human anatomy and the fashion proportions. Second the study of Fashion Design, materials and textiles in developing your own custom fashion designs and collections.

Course Content

This course lays out the principles, methods and industry techniques required to help the student develop his/her own individual creative abilities and style. leading towards their own fashion collection.  

During this 2-part course, students will have the opportunity to touch on all aspects of the Fashion  designer’s creative process and methods. From learning how to understand trends and styles, to recognizing and using different fabrics and materials. 

Through an easy-to-follow and hands-on approach, this course focuses above all on practical knowledge and skill acquisition. First it introduces students to the world of Fashion Illustration by developing fundamental skills and knowledge in areas such as drawing, human anatomy, color theory and the creation of fashion illustrations 

A significant portion of the course is dedicated to the creation of fashion collections and the design of men’s and women’s clothing and accessories in various styles and trends using different drawing and pictorial techniques. 

By the end of this course the student will become confident enough to develop their idea or illustrations to a tangible fashion product or collection.

The course is aimed at aspiring designers and passionate fashion enthusiasts with little to no prior knowledge who wish to transform their ideas to fashion collections while obtaining the necessary insight, creative abilities and technical skills required to work in the industry.

It is also recommended for the curious individual who would like to initiate a new creative direction and would like to be more skilled and knowledgeable to lead that creative and artistic effort.

What will you Learn after this course?

  1. Discover the basic Principles of human anatomy and fashion distorted proportions
  2. Create your own fashion plate in all different respective postions and specific designs.
  3. Obtain understanding into the different types of drapery folds that are necessary for the fashion drawing design.
  4. Learn about Human movement and fabric behaviour
  5. Create beautiful designs using different media and techniques of watercolour, coloured pencil techniques together with the use of markers.
