Delve into the study of fashion illustration. This course is divided into 2 parts. First an exploration of human anatomy and the fashion proportions. Second the study of drapery, materials and textiles in developing your own custom fashion plates and designs.

Course Content

This course covers the principles and methods for the creation of the Fashion Plate. It’s contend towards the necessary understanding needed for correct drawing of the Fashion proportion – the platform of the human figure for fashion use. Participants will first study the human anatomy- a mainstay for all fashion design with special focus on the “distorted” anatomical concept that is used in fashion drawing.

During the second part of this Fashion Illustration course students will develop an understanding of the drapery folds will be explored together with the understanding of how to create different texture and surfaces using simple drawing/painting technique to be able to achieve the desired outcome.

Different positions of the fashion plate will be explored to make sure that the fashion plate responds to fashion design. On the end of the course, participants will have a full understanding of the fashion drawing design and be able to create freely the plate and design that is presentable to the protentional clients

 

What will you Learn after this course?

  1. Discover the basic Principles of human anatomy and fashion distorted proportions
  2. Create your own fashion plate in all different respective postions and specific designs.  
  3. Obtain understanding into the different types of drapery folds that are necessary for the fashion drawing design.
  4. Learn about Human movement and fabric behaviour
  5. Create beautiful designs using different media and techniques of watercolour, coloured pencil techniques together with the use of markers.

Professional Sculptor and Artist

Stefan, is a professional artist and sculptor who has devoted a life to immersing himself in the Geometry and Mathematical patterns behind Great Design with special focus on the Golden Ratio theory, Fractal Geometry and Fibonacci. He has also been very academically involved and lectured at the University of Fine Arts in Slovakia and locally at MCAST.

Stefan has also made a name for himself as a professional artist and sculptor, within the international film industry in which he is best renowned for his artistic contribution in: The Chronicles of NarniaGame of ThronesHellboyAgora, Sinbad (TV series) & Assasin’s Creed.
