Am I eligible?

1. Eligible Qualifications
   a. A qualification shall be considered eligible if approved as level 3 or higher on the Malta Qualification Framework (MQF) grading structure1. Further information may be found in section 4.1 of the guidelines.
   b. In case of specialized training which is not MQF level rated, the training will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
   c. The qualification or certification is to be granted on merit that is verified through a form of assessment that is specific to that qualification or certification.
   d. Vocational Learning programmes, besides being occupation-specific, need to also include practical knowledge – that is, being based on practice or, at least, have a practical component, preferably included also in the assessment procedure. It is widely acknowledged that applied practice enhances the real acquisition of
   knowledge and skill.
2. Eligible Applicants
   This fiscal benefit is available to the student or his/her parents as the case may be.
3. Exclusion
   Non-eligible costs include seminars or conferences and SEC/MATSEC examinations, ECDL core, ECDL Advanced

About the scheme:

GET QUALIFIED is an initiative that supports the personal development of individuals for the achievement of qualifications and certifications required by industry. The incentive is applicable to individuals following a course of studies leading to a certification, diploma, degree or post-graduate degree courses. Upon successful completion the student will benefit from a tax credit enabling them to recover part of the costs incurred.

Students following courses approved by the Malta Enterprise can appply for tax credits on the following costs:

• fees paid by the individual to the university, institution or other entity recognized by the Malta Enterprise  for the training and educational services leading to the approved qualification.
• fees for sitting for examinations required to achieve the approved qualification.​​​​​​​​
