During this specialized 2 part workshop you will learn how to successfully approach the human figure, first by drawing, then painting in oils.
During the 1st part we will start by simplifying the 3 dimensional complexities of the human machine. We will gain and understanding of the human proportions and discuss different methods, which will help you feel more at ease and enjoy drawing from observation.
During the 2nd part of this 2-part workshop we will introduce the full palette which will be used throughout the painting sessions. The Sight size method will be used for this painting and a full range of colours will be used throughout the process to achieve realistic depiction of what we are seeing in front of us.
All techniques will be merged and used when possible to create a classical painting starting from simplification of line and shape to hue, value and intensity of colours, hierarchies, refinement and edge work.
