Course Description
Programme Overview
In this hands-on handcraft class, you will learn the tools, techniques and processes of sculpting with special focus on clay and handbuilding sculpture. You’ll begin class discovering the language of sculpture and what makes a beautiful sculpture. Then, you’ll learn different processes and techniques. During this exciting journey you will become introduced to various sculpting techniques ranging from: Dry-clay, ceramics, paper mache, cardboard, carving and relief sculptures and so much more! We will also touch different subjects from ornamental to figurative sculptures.
All sessions and techniques taught will be using handbuilding method (not wheel-throwing). Firing of artefacts is not guaranteed.
Is this class right for You?
The beginners class is specifically designed for the busy adult learner who wants to delve in a world of creativity and enjoy creating a versatile sculpting portfolio using various sculpting media and techniques. With the benefit of small-sized classes individual attention and guidance is provided all throughout the course, as per the student’s, performance level. Lessons are very easy-to-follow yet challenging enough to keep you engaged and motivated enough to get you continually progressing.

All activities are inclusive of Shared-Classroom resources. These resources include shareable pencils, reusable tools and equipment, and general materials. Personal-use consumable resources are not included and must be purchased by the student. Personal use consumables include: personal toolkits, specific materials, clay, fine-painting paper etc… which are consumed and/or taken home by the student after individual use.
